		<description>Verrucae

Verrucae are another name for warts that appear on the feet. Caused by the Human Papilloma Virus, they usually self-resolve when the immune system recognizes them as an unwanted dis-ease. This can take many years in adults and less in children. The current evidence-based research supports a treatment regime of masterly inactivity: in other words, leave them alone until they self-resolve. In terms of spread, the majority of Podiatrists, Dermatologists and skin specialists are not in favour of treating verrucae.

Verrucae are not usually painful, however the overlying callus (hard skin) can be uncomfortable in which case, book an appointment to have the callus removed. Many of the available treatments including the use of caustics (Bazuka) and freezing are often costly and painful with limited success so Tracy doesn’t use these to treat Verrucae.

For patients who have tried ‘everything’ or just want them gone - we do offer an innovative and effective treatment called Falknor’s Needling. This procedure is a soft tissue therapy that is intended to break down the verruca and create a controlled inflammatory response, which stimulates the body’s immune system to recognise and destroy the virus.

		<description>About

Tracy Byrne is a dynamic and compassionate clinician, deeply committed to holistic wellness and preventive care, particularly for women and children. As the driving force behind Hackney’s diverse

clinic,

Holistic Health, she embodies the roles of mother, entrepreneur, Clinic Director, blogger, and is a respected figure in the community.

With over 25 years of clinical experience and extensive postgraduate training, Tracy provides expert care that goes beyond traditional Podiatry. She champions a whole-body approach, understanding that foot health is integral to overall well-being, to offer her patients a personalised and lasting method of treatment.

Tracy is particularly passionate about supporting women through the transitions of peri-menopause and menopause. She integrates cyclical information into her treatment plans to address the specific needs of women during these life stages. Tracy’s direct communication skills and warmth make her particularly popular with neurodivergent patients, which is particularly important with children and parents. Her understanding and patient-centred approach are highly valued by this community.

Known for her warm, quick-thinking, and considerate nature, Tracy understands each patient’s unique needs, meaning that no two treatment plans are identical. Her dedication to providing exceptional care is evident in her diverse skillset including dry needling, trigger point therapy, nail surgery, 3D foot scanning, and shockwave therapy.

A strong advocate for barefoot living, Tracy understands the importance of natural foot movement. She remains committed to preventive treatment and has worked as the key research and development Podiatrist for brands such as Vivo Barefoot, Skeanie, Bobux, and more recently London start-up Zig &#38;amp; Star, consulting regularly with the design teams towards developing the healthiest shoes possible for young people.

Tracy’s multidisciplinary clinic on Hackney’s bohemian Broadway market in London brings together an expert team. Here, clinicians offer over 30 different treatment modalities so patients benefit from a holistic and multi-faceted approach.

Beyond her clinical work, Tracy enjoys an active lifestyle: cycling, gardening, travelling, cooking, blogging, and time with her daughters, husband and sausage dog!

Tracy is a registered member of the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) and RCOP (The Royal College of Podiatry).

		<description>Podiatry Overview

Podiatry is the word used to describe the branch of medicine concerned with the lower limb, particularly the foot and ankle. Podiatrists diagnose, treat and prevent foot problems using chemical, physical, mechanical and surgical therapies.

They receive core medical training by studying anatomy , physiology , pharmacology, general medicine and microbiology. They then go on to more advanced and specialised training in the examination, diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the feet.

All Podiatrists are required to be registered with the Health Professions Council (check). This ensures that the podiatrist you see, regularly updates their skills at postgraduate level.

What’s the difference between a Chiropodist and a Podiatrist?
There is no difference. A podiatrist is the internationally recognised name for foot specialists.
	I can help you with:

Diabetic foot, heel pain, corns, verrucae, athlete's foot, calluses, bunions and bunionettes, fungal nail infection, ingrown nails, nail surgery,&#38;nbsp;plantar fasciitis, acupuncture, biomechanical assessment and orthotics.
Book your appointment online.

		<guid isPermaLink="true">https://tracybyrne.co.uk/Children-Overview</guid>

		<description>Children Overview

Look after your children's health with Podiatrist-endorsed footwear and regular foot check-ups. Poor foot health and ill-fitting or inappropriate shoes can cause major problems later in life. A child's foot is wide at the top and made mainly of cartilage during the first few years of life. It is soft and pliable, and therefore vulnerable to the effects of rigid or ill-fitting shoes. With regular check-ups and proper advice on footwear, your children will have better foot health for the rest of their life.

Tracy specialises in the study of infant foot development, biomechanics and human movement. She has seen first hand the damage and suffering caused by poor footwear choices and is committed to early prevention. She has worked as the key research and development Podiatrist for brands such as Vivo Barefoot, Skeanie, Bobux, and more recently a London start up Zig &#38;amp; Star. She regularly consults with the design teams to create the healthiest shoes possible for children.

Tracy encourages parents to let their children walk barefoot as often as possible, as this develops the muscles and ligaments in the foot, increases the strength of the foot's arch, improves proprioception and contributes to good posture.
Tracy's own two teenage daughters go barefoot as much as possible, and when protection is needed, they wear soft-soled shoes that allow for sensory feedback from the ground and plenty of room for natural foot growth.
Tracy is passionate about early prevention of foot problems and offers foot checks for children at her London clinic, Holistic Health, located in Hackney.
