Why I love my clinic’s London Fields location

Rather fittingly for this wave of sunny and warm weather – it’s Love Parks week!

If you’ve ever visited my clinic, Holistic Health, you’ll know that it’s right on the doorstep of London Fields in Hackney.

Many of my patients are locals, but there are some that make quite the journey! So here are just a few of the ways you can make the most of this lovely, leafy location when it’s time for your next Podiatry appointment or Vitamin B12 booster.

👟 Biomechanical Assessment with a view
Whether you’re a casual runner or training for your next event, why not have me assess your gait from the trails or pavements of the park? By seeing you run first-hand I can thoroughly examine your form, identify any abnormalities, and devise a plan of treatment to prevent you from injury.

It’s worth noting that a Biomechanical Assessment is tailored to your exact needs and circumstances, so if running isn’t your thing, I’m not about to make you start!

🚵 Cycle to your appointment
Hackney is notoriously flat and easy to get around by bike (my favourite form of transport!). With dedicated cycle lanes, you can pedal your way over to Holistic Health, giving yourself a pat on the back for reducing carbon emissions on arrival. If you don’t own a bike you can easily borrow an electric Lime cycle – just don’t forget your helmet, they’re FAST!
🏊 Take a dip
London Fields boasts a heated, Olympic-length outdoor swimming lido which is the ideal place to cool off in the summer or feel the benefits of hydrotherapy year-round.

🍔 Savour every bite If you have ever visited me for a Saturday appointment then you already know that you’ll be tempted by Broadway Market’s delicious offerings as soon as you step foot on the street. After a busy day in the clinic I love to sample something new – and in the summer you could bring a blanket to make a lazy picnic of it in London Fields.

🐩 Go on paw patrol As Pawrent to two adorable little daschunds, I say with authority that dog-spotting is good for the soul! In my totally unbiased opinion, London Fields is one of the finest parks to enjoy this pastime from.

🌞 Free therapy As a Podiatrist I am a huge advocate of functional movement, and you don’t have to join a gym to feel the benefits of daily exercise. A 10-minute walk around the park is an excellent way to boost your heart rate, absorb vitamin D from the sunshine, and feel the benefits. You can head to Holistic Health’s blog 10 Steps to a Healthier You if you are keen to integrate this but don’t know where to begin.
